What changes more rapidly with increasing altitude air temperature or dew point temperature?

Why does the amount of water vapour decreases rapidly with altitude?
To know the reason behind it remember one thing that with increasing altitude the temperature decreases eg. in may month there will be high temperature in mumbai that is at low altitude and comparatively low temperature in himalayan region (eg. srinagar) that is at high altitude.Now as we know that high temperature increases the rate of evaporation and if the rate of evaporation is increased through leaves then more water will go into atmosphere and humidity will increase and this gives us our answer that is...............at high altitude because of low temperature the evaporation rate decreases and thus there are less water vapour in atmosphere as compared to low altitude areas where there is high temperature and high vapour rate in air due to evaporation

What is tropospheric pollution?
The def. of troposphere is: The lowest densest part of the earth's atmosphere in which most weather changes occur and temperature generally decreases rapidly with altitude and which extends from the earth's surface to the bottom of the stratosphere; adding IC on the end of that word makes it an adjective. Therefore we are talking about AIR pollution!

Several things happen when going up to a higher altitude: First there are short term changes such as breathing more rapidly (hyperventilation) and increasing blood flow by increasing heart rate. This has a limit as the main stimulus for these responses is C02 not oxygen. On a longer term the number of red blood cells are increased (polycythaemia), higher hematocrit and a decrease in plasma volume. Additionally muscles increase their blood supply by stimulating the development of more capillaries and myoglobin content is increased as well as the enzyme: , 3-diphosphoglycerate.

Does the Earth go through periodic cycles of cooling and warming?
Yes. There have been several periods of cooling, generally known as ice ages, after which the earth warms up again. These are regular cycles, with cycle times of thousands of years, with very gradual changes in temperature. This differs from the present situation, in which average global temperatures are changing relatively rapidly and at an increasing rate, and in which temperature changes can not readily be associated with any of the natural cycles.

How does temperature vary with altitude in the earth's atmosphere?
Temperatures decrease with altitude in the troposphere, the lowest layer of the atmosphere, from an average of about 20° C to below -50° C. In the next layer, the stratosphere, temperatures warm only slightly up to the ozone layer at the top of the stratosphere, where they increase rapidly with altitude until becoming about the same as on the earth's surface. Temperatures in the next layer, the mesosphere, cool rapidly with altitude to below -80° C. Temperatures rise rapidly with increases in altitude in the next layer, the thermosphere, but temperatures there can vary widely. Depending on the activity of ionized particles within this region, they reach a high of over 1,200° C in the daytime and become extremely cold at night. The next layer is the exosphere, which cools with altitude to where it ends about 1,000 km above the earth's surface.
