There's no such thing as "an unbalanced force". When the entire group of forces

acting on an object is unbalanced, the object accelerates, in the direction of the

vector sum of the forces.

Unbalanced force results in acceleration; this acceleration can be calculated through the equation F = ma (m being the mass of the object concerned).

When unbalanced forces act upon an object, that object will experience acceleration of some kind. Remember, force equals mass times acceleration.

What happens if an unbalanced force is applied to an object?

When an unbalanced force acts on an object, the weight of the object decreases.

A force can cause an object to change its speed and or direction?

A force can cause an object to change its speed or direction. A force causes acceleration, as given by Newton's equation F=ma, where f is force, m is mass, and a is acceleration. Acceleration occurs when something either changes direction, like a tether ball is accelerating when it goes around the pole, or when the objects speeds up or slows down.Forces give energy to the object it is acting on.The more mass an object has, the harder it is to move, stop, or change the speed or direction of the object. An object will not start moving unless a force acts on it.An object will not stop moving unless a force acts on it.An object will not change speed unless a force acts on it.An object will not change direction unless a force acts on it.unbalanced

What is the unbalanced force on an object when two equal and opposite forces of 3 N act on an object?

WhenΒ two forces acting on an object are not equal in size, we say that they are unbalanced forces. a stationary object starts to move in the direction of the resultant force. ... a moving object changes speed and/or direction in the direction of the resultant force.

What cause an object to move?

Newton said an object at rest will tend to stay at rest until acted upon by an external force. An object is moved when another force is applied to it. Whether it be from change in potential energy or just direct change in momentum, another force is necessary to move an object at rest.

Why does an object in motion stay in motion unless acted on by an unbalanced force?

ANSWER 1 - If an unbalanced force acts on an object in motion, then the velocity of the object will change. ANSWER 2 - The object will continue its state of motion. This property is called 'inertia'.
