The Eurovision Song Contest was not in Ireland in 1996. Ireland won it in 1996, but the contest was held in the Oslo Spektrum in Oslo, the capital of Norway, as Norway had won the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest that was in the Point Theatre in Dublin.
A Song for Ireland. The winner of A Song For Ireland would then get to represent Ireland in Eurovision.
