I don't know where you're from, so I'm unable to tell you if it was cancelled on your local TV channels, however Avatar was completed. The final episode, Sozin's comet, was in four parts and I won't tell you how it ended so as not to ruin it.
There are three seasons of Avatar, or books, each dealing with Ang learning a different kind of bending - first water, then earth and then fire.
Seasons of Avatar, The Last Airbender, are easily downloadable from many reputable and unreputable sources which I will not list here for you.

However, it might interest you to know that the makers of Avatar: The Last Airbender are developing a new 10-episode mini series about Avatar: The Legend of Korra. Korra is the avatar after Aang and is also Aang and Katara's daughter.
