The Emperor at the time was Emperor Titus. Emperor Titus Sabinus Vespanius helped the survivours by providing land, food and other vital supplies.

∙ 14y agoIt destroyed several of the ancient cities around it, primarily Pompeii and Herculaneum. Herculaneum was a very high end resort on the South-western side of Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii was just an ordinary town in Rome on the opposite side of Herculaneum.
