how many funnels (smoke stacks) did the titanic have?
For asthetics (to make it look fast) and to create an air vortice which would draw smoke from the coal fuelled boilers away and above the ship.
To start off with, on a ship the "smoke stacks" are known as FUNNELS. On the Titanic the forward three funnels vented the smoke and ashes from the 29 boilers below. The 4th funnel was a fake. This made the ship more grand and in proportion, along with giving her a sense of power and speed. The same thing is done today. Two of the Disney Cruise ships have rear funnels that are fake. One of them houses a nightclub.
The "dummy funnel" wasn't only just aesthetic. It was, in fact, venting air from the galleys and other sections. However, any maritime artist would know that any depiction would show smoke in the first three stacks but not all four.

They were smoke stacks. 3 of them let out smoke from the boiler rooms and the 4th was from the kitchen, actually.

They actually smoked tobacco on the ship. They could not use their cigars as storage.

Four stacks. The boilers used 3 of the stacks for exhaust, the fourth was used to vent Titanics' numerous kitchens and galleys.

no only in titanic
Pollute just means to make harmful for life, like SMOKE stacks. They produse SMOKE!
Titanic means of great force or power and it had 4 smoke stacks, which was amazing back then. But the 4th stack was to make it look like the best ship. ADDED: it was the size and speed of the Titanic and her 2 sister ships (Britannic and Olympic) that made them "amazing", not the number of funnels. In fact one of the funnels was part of the ventilation system, not involved with the vessel's propulsion, even if it helped give an impression of great power.
