Tyrannosaurus rex fossils have only been found in modern day North America. Examples have been found in Montana, Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota South Dakota & Wyoming in the USA and Alberta & Saskatchewan in Canada.

A species of Tyrannosaurus lancesis was also found in Montana.

Some Tyrannosaurus relatives have been found in Mongolia in Asia Tyrannosaurus bataar, Tyrannosaurus efremovi & Tyrannosaurus movojilovi.

When dinosaurs evolved, all of Earth's continents were connected, forming the supercontinent Pangae. Dinosaurs easily spread across all of Pangaea. When Pangaea broke into separate parts, dinosaurs continued to live on all of what are today Earth's seven continents.
