north and south bridge of a motherboard
Southbridge chipset
The chipset controls communications and interactions between the CPU and other components on the motherboard.
Motherboard or some times refereed as a Main Board. The components are often connect to conections called the Bus and from there toe communication is controlled by the IEEE
A motherboard is basically a brain of the computer. It controls everything your computer does, it's controls your RAM, HDD, etc. The HP I'm on right now uses a AMD Athlon X2 motherboard. - Actually, the brain of the computer is the CPU (Control Processing Unit). The motherboard, holds the CPU and other components that combine to form a computer.
The BIOS on the motherboard.

UART
In a Dsktop it is connected to the motherboard which has a sound chip that controls The Input and output Of Sound.
I think the CPU does a better job
I am not quite sure what you mean by this, so perhaps a breif description of the two components you listed will help you: CPU: The CPU (or Central Processing Unit) is often thought of as the Brain of the computer. It is a relatively small chip in standard computers (2 inch square rougly) and serves to compute data. Information from everything else happening in the computer is "fed" to the CPU and it performs data calculations. Motherboard: The motherboard is like the overseer in a computer. It controls the flow of data, directing traffic. Without this component, all other components of the computer are useless as they cannot communicate with eachother. Both components are necessities. The CPU its attached directly to the motherboard in almost all cases.
