The worlds largest "commercial" airport is King Fahd International Airport in Saudi Arabia. See related link below.
This is a difficult question, because you are facing several different classifications that you need to narrow down. There really is no "Worlds Busiest Airport" per se, but there are different classifications which you can narrow it down to. The three main categories would be Passenger Traffic, Carg…o Traffic, or just plain Traffic Movements (flights in and out each day, total). The reason you cannot classify them all together is as follows: -Passenger Traffic: The busiest Passenger Traffic airports will be no doubt "busy", but the actual amount of flights would be less, due to the problems of airport traffic delays, and other problems. So, although the airport would be "busy" indeed, flights registered in and out would register a bit less. In short, it's possible to have less planes, but more planes full. -Cargo Traffic: The busiest Cargo Traffic airports usually register more flights in/out than passenger traffic, but these flights do not matter to official agencies keeping track of passenger flights. They do not see as many problems with delays, because there are less passengers to keep track of, and cargo planes are never regional jet sized aircraft, therefore they suffer less weather delays as well. (The larger the plane, the less chance of a weather delay, and the more capabilities it has to fly in bad weather). -Traffic Movements: The total amount of traffic movements considered can also be a point for measuring the busiest airport, but may or may not be leaned toward passenger or freight/cargo airports. Compared to the "Passenger Traffic", think of it as more planes, but less planes full. Now that these points are clear, here are the numbers for the top airports of the world: -Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. This airport has successfully registered the largest number of flights in and out in one year for a few years in the past decade. -Memphis International Airport, Memphis, TN, USA. This airport has registered the most amount of cargo moved in gross tons in one year for several years in a row. This is also the home and main transfer station of UPS. -London-Heathrow International Airport, London, England. This airport has the record several years in a row for most passengers moved. -Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Los Angeles, CA, USA. This airport has the record for most origin to destination, or non-connecting flights. Direct flights to LAX are available at almost every major airport in the USA. -Van Nuys Airport, Van Nuys, CA, USA. This airport holds the record of the most takeoffs and landings for general aviation. Includes small and private aircraft. -Frankfort International Airport, Frankfurt, Germany. This airport has the record for most Internatinal Destinations served. Traffic is not taken into consideration, passenger or aircraft. Only the fact that it is possible to connect to more International Destinations than any other airport in the world. ( Full Answer )

A collection of fish is called a host. . I'd always heard that a bunch of fish is a school, but perhaps an official collection is called something else. ("School of fish" is one of the clever puns in the movie Nemo. Nemo is not going to be alone, but with others--he's joining the school.)
The United States currently fields both the largest Navy in the world, and currently the largest active submarine fleet. However, the US only operates Nuclear Submarines, the last Diesel-Electric boat being donated some years ago for research use. Many other nations operate DE submarines because of …the lower cost, and because they don't have "blue water" navies - those which are global in nature. They only provide coastal defense. The biggest tank fleet in the world is owned by the Russian federation....Russian army has the worlds largest fleet of MBT's and armoured fighting vehicles..it has an estimated 30,000 MBT( Active and reserves) and another 35000-40000 AFV/IFV...It includes Frontline MBT's like T-90, T-80, T-72's and …second line tanks like T-62/64's,T-55...other armoured fighting vehicles are BMP-series,BTR series,BRDM's and BDMs... By Sanoop leo . Frankly, in modern combat, only current-generation tanks are worth anything. Conflicts in the 1990s and 2000s showed that prior-generation tanks were essentially worthless when fighting current-generation tanks or other equivalent forces. That is, when counting effective tanks, only those using designs from the 1980s and later should be counted (i.e what are referred to as 3rd-generation Main Battle Tanks). Here's the world's current inventory of modern tanks, excluding countries with less than 300: . United States: 2000 M1A2 and 4400 M1A1, plus 2400 M1 in storage . People's Republic of China: 200 Type 99 and 2500 Type 96 . Russia: 700 T-90 and 3500 T-80 models (over half in storage) . South Korea: 1500 K1-series . India: 800 T-90 and 250 Arjun . Egypt: 1000 M1A1 . Pakistan: 600 Al-Kahlid and 300 T-80 . Germany: 2300 Leopard 2-series (75% in storage) . Israel: 700 Merkeva (all models) . France: 400 AMX-56 Leclerc . United Kingdom: 400 Challenger 2 . United Arab Emirates: 380 AMX-56 Leclerc . Saudi Arabia: 370 M1A2 . Turkey: 330+ Leopard 2 All numbers are in active deployment, excluding those noted to be in storage. ( Full Answer )
The answer depends greatly on definitions. By many accounts the Allied invasion fleet assembled for D-Day was history's largest, including roughly 5,000 vessels, and more than 100,000 people. Russia: The Ground Forces retain a very large quantity of vehicles and equipment. There is also like…ly to be a great deal further, older, equipment in state military store, a practice continued from the Soviet Union. Main Battle Tanks: 22,800+ (~ 6,500 active). USA: United States Army and United States Marine Corps: Approximately 6,000 M1A1 and M1A2 variants in both Army and Marine Corps inventory. Source: Wikipedia . As a further note, virtually all the US tanks in current inventory are top-tier modern M1A1 or later variants. There are substantial stocks of stored plain M1 tanks, too. About 75% of the current Russian active inventory is older T-72 class, with the remainder being modern T-80/90 variants. The mothballed tanks are mostly T-55/54 tanks, with a minority of T-64/72 stocks also. Similarly, over 90% of current active Chinese tanks are Type 96 or earlier designs (T-72 equivalents). Less than 10% are the new Type 98/99 series. All mothballed inventory is the older Type 80-series or before. ( Full Answer )
