France is part of the European Union (EU) and uses the Euro. Although it fluctuates quite frequently, the exchange rate for the Euro is approximately 1.00US=.70E, give or take a few cents. For the most part, you will find that your expenses in Paris are similar to those in the U.S. While there are some things that cost considerably more, they are typically things that are somewhat more abundant in the U.S. and, therefore, probably not something that you would really want to buy there anyway. Wine is a good buy in France and champagne, comparative to what it typically costs in the U.S., is practically a steal.
