THE PARTICLES DECREASE IN SPEED!!

when particles are introduced to freezing or colder temperatures, they tend to slow down. sometimes they even freeze.

when particles are introduced to hot or boiling temperatures, they speed up and get jumpy and zoom around and such.

I think of it like when you're standing on a frozen lake in your bare feet and you are very very cold you might stop moving around as much or you might even freeze to death and when you're on a very hot surface like walking across lava ash in bare feet you have to jump around and dance because it is so hot!!
