I did not see individual nicknames but you can look up each airmen on their site. They were called the Tuskegee Airmen because they trained at the airbase in Tuskegee, Alabama. The organization's site also lists their squadron and where they flew.

I Belive that there were p-51s,dc-3s and other ones that im not sure about. The Allies used thousands of planes for bombing and attacking the German troops and supplies. They sent all the aircraft that could be used in any way. So basically, any aircraft that was stationed in UK was sent to support the invasion. On the day of the invasion, the German air force only sent two FW-190 fighters to attack the troops.

No. There's only a handful of P-51s still airworthy, and they are mostly used at airshows and to do flyovers at special events. The flying P-51s today are all in private hands. If you get a chance to see one, don't pass it up. Most WWII aircraft became obsolete right after the war ended, as jet aircraft became more practical and were adopted by the leading air forces. US B-29 bombers were still used in Korea, and so were P-51s, but that was the last combat for them. The Spanish air force was still flying German Bf 109s in the late 1960s. The DC 3 cargo plane was called a C 47 by the US Army Air Force, used to haul cargo and drop paratroopers. Lots of those are still flying, some as airliners; there's one locally used as a fire plane to drop water on forest fires.
