Considering he was one of the delegates (probably the senior delegate since he was 81 at the time of the Constitutional Convention 1787), he was extremely supportive. He spoke and wrote to both the his fellow delegates and the public to support the new governing document meant to replace the dysfunctional Articles of Confederation.

There are multiple authoritative books on Franklin, his life and career. There are also many well researched academic volumes on the Constitutional Convention, its delegates and the ratification process. Check with your local Librarian for further information.
