On their journey they saw a lot of different types of creatures and races, they met Giant Spiders in the forest of Mirkwood, where they also saw Elves of the Woodland realm. They saw a Giant man that could turn in to different creatures such as bears, he also had a handful of animals that had been trained to help him, they met Goblins, Stone Trolls, Of course Gollum once the owner of the ring of power before Bilbo found it, they also met Wargs which attacked the company which forced them to hide in trees after that they were saved by the Great Eagles which were gods to many people in Middle-Earth and were able to speak in a language which all four races could understand, they met the Men of lake town, of course Smaug the Dragon, and many Dwarves that had been called by Thorin for aid and arrived just in time for the Goblins to be Defeated
They saw a stairway leading to a door.
Yes AND no. Yes because when Thorin, Bilbo and the others went into his lair, he deliberately laid on his stomach on his treasure. Why else; to defend this weak spot! No because he forgot. Bilbo tricked Smaug twice into revealing it. The first was during his conversation with Bilbo. Smaug was very polite with Bilbo listening to his riddles. Convinced that Bilbo did not mean him any harm, Smaug rolled over on his back. Bilbo saw the spot where the scale was missing somewhere on Smaug's chest. The second time was when Smaug realised that Bilbo ran away with a golden two handled cup. This pushed Smaug's infuriation to its boiling point. He started destroying things and eating the dwarfs ponies and when he got to Long Lake, he was flying so high that the chink in Smaug's armor was visible. Bard the Bowman shot him in that very spot, Smaug didn't see it coming.
Smaug, the dragon in The Hobbit, boasted to Bilbo about being "armoured above and below with iron scales and hard gems." However, when he displayed his underside for Bilbo's examination, Bilbo discovered a large bare patch of flesh, and thus a vulnerability, in the hollow of his left breast. Bard the Bowman slew Smaug by shooting a black arrow into this hollow.
He threw rocks at them and called them names. Sometimes he wore the ring so they could see him, other times they could see him. His insults drew them away from the dwarves and he doubled back and rescued them.
The reason he didn't see his friends the moment he returned to the shire was because he found out that his relatives were about to take possession of his home and he therefore had to deal with that crisis. And as for afterwards, I think it is too going far to assume that he didn't go see his friends. All Tolkien says is that Bilbo acquires over time a reputation for being odd and that many Hobbits shy away from him and his new reputation. That's a far cry from saying Bilbo is completely alienated from all his old friends and that he never goes to see them. Tolkien says very little about Bilbo's day to day life.
One of them was the fact that none of the dwarves really liked him or trusted him. That is, until after he discovered his Magical Ring.
They saw a stairway leading to a door.
The end point of the expedition of Gregory Blaxland occurred when he and his companions, Wentworth and Lawson, reached what they named Mount Blaxland. This was on 31 May 1813. From here, they could see the plains and the extensive grasslands to the west.
Dwalin is the dwarf most surprised to see Bilbo in Chapter 5 of "The Hobbit." He reacts with disbelief and questions Bilbo about how he reached their location.
