What did Bobby Jones average off the tee?
I searched for the answer but I cant find EXACTLY the average but it say that his average is PAR OR BETTER, so I'd predict 69 - 71 about. He's a very good player so it's possible it can be a little bit less than what I put.
Jones averaged 1 off the tee. It was very rear for him to be hitting 3 off the tee.
He can if he wants to, but he could be the butt of many jokes! If it is general play, he can tee off from wherever he wants to, but if it is an official competition he has to tee off from the stipulated tee box. If he doesn't feel he hits the ball far enough he could simply hit off the forward tees, but if he really wants to hit off the ladies tees…
The tee allows a kicker to get more underneath the ball, and adds great length to the kick. It is also alot easier to kick off of a tee. I know high school kickers who can kick 52 yards off a tee no problem, but are horrible off the ground. The tee makes a huge difference, and adds great length to the kick.
If you hit the ball out of bounds on your initial tee shot and decide to tee up again are you hitting three or four?
If this happens, you pick up your ball and tee it up on the proper tee box, no penalty. However, if you or anyone in your group tee'd off from the wrong place they receive a two shot penalty and must correct their mistake (by teeing off from the proper tee box) before they commence the next hole. If they do not fix their mistake they are DQ'd.
Can you tee up from a marker that is further away without penalty like a lady chooses to hit one time from the senior men's tee?
If you are in general play i.e not a competition you can do this. But, if you are in a competition there would the lady would receive a two shot penalty for teeing off from outside the teeing area. She would be disqualified if she teed off on the next hole without correcting her mistake. (That is, tee off from the proper tee, it will be her third shot)
It is called the tee box. The ladies tee off from a line somewhere forward of the men's line. You are allowed to go two club lengths back from a line drawn from one marker to the other inside of the tee box. There are normally four different tee boxes in golf, White and Blue usually being Mens tees, and Red and Yellow normally ladies or seniors tees.
Depends on the club. It also depends on your swing. With a large headed driver, tee the ball up so the equator of the ball is level with the top edge of the driver when the driver is sitting on the ground. If you tend catch the ball on the upswing (which is what you should do on a driver) you may want to tee it a quarter inch higher. Fairway woods and irons, I…
If you are playing a stableford competition you would just wait for your group to finish the hole and then go to the next tee. However, if you are playing a stroke competition you must return to the tee, unless you have already played a provisional from the tee. If you didn't play a provisional and do not go back to the tee you shall have an NR non returned score.
Simple physics. Hold the tee so that the pointed end is down (i.e. closer to the centre of the Earth) Insert the golf tee parallel to the local pull of gravity into the surface you are teeing off from Place the ball on the top (cupped end) of the tee so that a line drawn from the center of the ball will be superimposed on the line if the main axis of the tee which…
No, you do not HAVE to use a tee. On par 3's some players play off the turf if they are hitting short irons. But on longer holes where you have to hit a driver or 3 wood it is highly recommended you use a tee so hit the sweet spot with the proper angle of approach. As Jack Nicklaus once said, you don't often get the chance to tee the ball up, so take…
