Cheerioats. There was a contest to rename the cereal back in the 40s. A woman named Ms Summers from Long Beach, NY won the contest by naming the cereal Cheerio's. Her son Frank Summers, who is still alive and about 84 years old currently lives in Los Angeles Ca. Just an interesting fact told to me by my father who was and still is very good friends of Frank Summers.?
