Stonewall Jackson never made it through the war. His arm was shot by some of his own men when he was scouting at night and they had to amputate it. As a result of the surgery he developed pneumonia and died some days later. His final words were "Let us cross over the river and rest under the shade of the trees."

- Actually Stone Wall Did Make It Through The War, Though He Did Die. But Just Becuase He Died His Legend Still Lives On. B/C He Was A Great General And He Defeated May Battles And The War.

Stonewall was shot and died of pneumonia. If you are familiar with your Civil war battles, remember Chancellorsville. After the first night of the battle, he and some aides went out to scout. Mind you, he was far in front of his lines, and in a place no one should be in the night with pitch darkness. So, once done scouting, he began riding to the main road. There were Confederates who mistook the General and aides for Union officers and shot. And shot. And shot. They even poured cannon into them. Jackson was shot three times. His personal doctor had to amputate his left arm due to two shots landing in that arm. After a day or so, The doctor had him moved to a safer place because he began to notice something else was wrong. Jackson was developing bad pneumonia. After a week of the wounds healing, but the sickness getting worse, Jackson died; May 10,1863. The Confederate army was devastated.
