What did people eat in World War 2 at Christmas?

People during World War 2 ate chicken (if they were lucky) some times creamed sauce , bacon's and they made cakes out of all there rations. people used to save up for Christmas dinner ,breakfast and lunch they had an late breakfast and an early dinner.

They ate what they could get their hands on and they had saved up. Some people were able to get hams, birds, fish and chickens for their Christmas dinners. Some people saved up sugar and flour to make cookies and cakes. Vegetables came from their canned veggies that came from the victory gardens or farmers. Some were even able to save up enough flour and lard to make pies or even dinner rolls. Our family was a large family so we saved for awhile. My mother came home from Medical School to celebrate and used up a lot of the gasoline rations. (I was born later but I heard about it!)
