How many tornadoes happen in the UK?

The majority of UK tornadoes are not recorded. So most statistics on the number of recorded tornadoes in the UK are usually around 70. Most UK tornadoes happen in the countryside (so don't get noticed) and are very small (usually). It is common belief that more tornadoes happen in the UK than in the US (tornado ally included) - Although US tornadoes are way bigger and stronger than those in the UK and so more are likely to be noticed and therefore recorded. Tornadoes in the UK usually happen in the summer when the weather conditions are right.

Are tornadoes usually formed in tornado ally?

Yes the majority of tornadoes happen in tornado alley. However it is not because tornado alley is generally flatter then the rest of the US. It has to do with the warm air from the Gulf of Mexico meeting the cold air from Canada in that region that causes tornadoes to mainly form there.

Have tornadoes hit southwest US?

With the apporach and passage of a frontal system in the US what pressure and wind direction changes take place?

Generally, the winds will change to the direction that the front is coming from. For example, if it come from the north the wind direction usually turns from a southernly direction to a wind more out of the north. The pressure will usually lower as the frontal boundary approaches then rises after the passage of the front.

What percentage of the world's tornadoes occur in the US?
