Any discs that have "RW" on them.
An example "CDRW" - Compact Disc, ReWritable
Compact-Disc Rewritable(CD-RW) or DVD-RW are both discs which can be erased and rewritten multiple times.
CD-RW (CD-rewritable) and DVD-RW (DVD-rewritable)
CD-RW
A single-session disc (CD-ROM-Read-Only Memory) can read but not write (record) or erase. Manufacturers write all items on the single-session disc at one time, and multisession disc (CD-RW-Compact Disc-Rewritable) is an erasable disc you can write on multiple times.
It means that your disc has a bad error so it cannot read and write files. if your error is on the dvd-rw, you can erase it. if your error is on the dvd-r then you cannot erase it and you will have to bin the disc.
Compact Disc ReWritable is a term used to refer to CDs that you can write data to multiple times.
In general, no. CD-ROM is read-only. You can only read from it after a manufacturer writes to the disc permanently. However, there are recordable CDs (CD-R), which allow you to write once. And, there are rewritable (CD-RW), which allow you to write and erase many times. The same goes for existing DVD technology (DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW).
CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
no
That the drive can read a disc that has been created in multiple sessions. To say a disc was created multisession means that data was written to the disc at different times rather than a single long session.
DVD + RW means that the disc is readable and writable, so you can write, delete, and re-write information onto it. To erase the information on a disc, pop it into a computer's optical disc drive and (on more recent versions of Windows) wait for the Auto Play to run, otherwise, find the CD under 'My Computer' and open the contents of the disc. Once you have that open, you are free to modify the contents of the disc as you choose. If you like, Windows Media Player also has burning/ripping features that should do the trick for most users. As of July 2014, there are multiple forms of rewritable optical media. These include the CD-RW, DVD-RW, and Blu-ray RW types of discs.
not possible.
It stands for Compact Disc- Rewritable. An author can write to the same CD-RW multiple times, whereas most CDs come already written and CD-Rs can only be written to once.
No, you can write to a CD-R but not format, once it has been written to you cannot erase the data off of it, you can still write to it if you leave the disc as an open-session. A CD-RW however can be formatted and reused.
