This may refer to his person and character; he is the true God, and eternal life; truly and really man; as a prophet he taught the way of God in truth.

The religious Jews have a saying "Moses and his law are the truth", "there is no truth but the law". Jesus may have been teaching against this saying.

Some believe that The Bible is wholly without error and so believe that the truth is to be found in the New Testament, although in many cases they make little effort to really find out what the New Testament says about Jesus. Many Christians have a favourite gospel that they nearly always refer to, so they do not even need be aware that other gospels sometimes tell a very different story.

Nearly all Christians believe that Jesus was born of the virgin Mary during the reign of King Herod, was crucified under Pontius Pilate either in 30 or 33 CE, and rose from the dead on the third day. They believe that he taught great moral truths and performed many miracles, which are to be found in the gospels. The Council of Nicaea affirmed in the fourth century that Jesus is one with God the Father, as a member of the Holy Trinity.

To be a Christian, one has to believe that Jesus the Christ (Messiah) is the Messiah who sacrificed Himself on the cross to pay for mankind's sin, and that He was buried and that He arose the third day. If you do not believe these things you are not a Christian. There are many other essential truths that need to be believed also, but the death, burial and resurrection is the prerequisite to be a Christian. I Corinthians 15:3-4, " For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, ....." To know the other truths about Jesus Christ you need to read and reread the Scriptures, all of them.

Everything that Jesus taught was truth. Jesus is part human and part divine, and because of having part divinity it gives Him infallability, or all-truthful.
