What you see or hear in reality that resembles a dead or scary thing is simply your mind running wild, not something being there. Even with this knowledge, I am still cursed with a mind that thinks for itself, and so I too suffer from seeing or hearing things that are not there. While this is a very minor hallucination, it is still a hallucination, and you should do what you can to fix it. Ask yourself this: Has anything that you cannot see ever harmed you before? If it hasn't, which will be what every sane and honest person will say, then "ghosts" or "spirits" will not harm you.
