I am 14 years old and in year 9. I, like most of my classmates, would welcome a four day week. There would be more time to recover from the exhaustion of school, to complete homework, and to engage in out of school activities.
However, this is an idealistic summary of a four day school week. The main draw back being that once in secondary school, teachers focus children to start studying for GCSEs and future qualifications. A four day week is not sufficiently long enough, to provide the education needed to achieve good grades in exams.
If an entire week consisted of 8 days, and we continued with a five day school week, this would be ideal.
Children in nursery and primary schools do not in my opinion, require five whole days of schooling. However, they have long breaks and shorter days, so this stacks up to less than the five day equivalent of seniors.
Overall, it's a nice idea, but highly impractical.
Bad idea, there would be shorter summer.
No, a six day school week 50 weeks a year should be put in place. That way kids will understand how hard it is to be an adult and have to work throughout the year. (And they might learn to spell 'school' and 'implemented' properly!) i think that you should go 4 days a week so they will get more rest and be able to think harder
some schools have the whole week off.... so i think kids would not have school the day before thanksgiving.
Only five school days in a week.
Once a week ? They should be there FIVE days a week ! The dole queues are full of kids who think they can just mess about in lessons, who leave school with no qualifications - and expect people like ME who work DAMNED hard and pay taxes so they can get 'paid' for doing nothing !
