What do letters on the bottom of lottery scratch tickets represent?

It represents the amount of money you won. Some people only scratch off the bottoms to reveal the letters and don't bother with the top portion.

For instance if you scratch off the letters and "b" "q" "z" is revealed that ticket isn't a winner, but if you scratch off "t" "w" "o" you just won $2. Or "t" "w" "y" is $20. "C" "L" "M" stands for claim that's when you win the top prizes.

So generally any letter that doesn't spell money isn't a winner.

So far from what I have seen in Washignton State and what I have read on various websites... Letter codes help identify the winning amount of a scratch ticket.

For example:

ONE = $1.00

TWO = $2.00

THR = $3.00

FOR = $4.00

FIV or FVE = $5.00

SIX = $6.00

SEV = $7.00

EGT = $8.00

NIN = $9.00

TEN = $10.00

TWY = $20.00

OHN=$100

These are the amounts I have seen and seem to be pretty uniform for every state.... BUT I do know that for the large winners that there are no uniform codes. They have letter codes that are the same as losing tickets. SO PLEASE SCRATCH (actually play the game) AND CHECK ALL YOUR TICKETS. Ya never know!

Usually when you see some random letters on a scratch off it is saying a number of dollars. For example: T= two or ten or twenty winning dollars

On winning tickets it is the amount you have won. O-N-E=$1 F-I-V=$5 T-E-N=$10 it goes like that up to $25 anything above $50 usually don't make sense so don't rely to much on this.
