Both rabies and HIV are viral infections. Currently, both can be prevented in the vast majority of cases (rabies through vaccination and HIV through using barrier protection during sex). However, both infections once established are almost uniformly fatal.
Both polio and AIDS are caused by a virus. There is a vaccine for polio but none for HIV.
Both are viruses.
Polio is most common in India and Africa.
retroviruses
nemona, aids, diabites, and polio
Yes, yes, and yes. Would you take a drug to cure AIDS? Or Shingles? Ask anyone who knows someone who had polio at one time. They have post Polio syndrome. They will tell you that they wish they had had polio vaccine then when they got polio.
"AIDS virus" is HIV, Human Immunodeficiency virus. It causes AIDS, Auto-immunodeficiency syndrome. HIV is a retrovirus because it uses reverse transcriptase in replication. Polio is a picornavirus. Both have RNA genomes, and positive sense. They are also both icosahedron shaped. HIV is much bigger: 100 diameter, rather than 30 which is polio.

Aids
Type 1 is the most common of the 3 Polioviruses that causes the Polio disease.
FDR was disabled by polio. A common disease that there was no cure for back then. Later on in the 1950's one man found the vaccine for polio. So, polio is no longer an issue.
