Once a teacher, always a teacher. Teaching is not something people do; it is who they are. True, there are some who are employed as teachers, who chose to get into the profession for what ever reason, but that fact alone does not make them a teacher. A teacher seeks to help others learn, not just to put out information. A computer can put out information. A radio, tape or CD player, or television can broadcast information. A teacher builds relationships, trust, and through this helps students to discover.
The obvious question is, "discover what?" The not so obvious answer is what ever needs discovering. Sometimes that can be simple 2 + 2 type information. Sometimes that can be as complex as why I am who I am. The key here is that the teacherhelps the student to discover what that student needs to discover, and by doing so shows the student how he can continue to do the same for other situations.
