The Silence are a religious order in Doctor Who that seek to prevent the Doctor from answering the oldest question in the universe, "Doctor who?" They are known for their ability to make people forget about them once they look away, which allows them to manipulate events from the shadows.
"Silence will fall" is a repeated phrase in Doctor Who referring to the prophecy of the Silence, a religious order that seeks to prevent the Doctor from answering a question. It foretells the downfall or defeat of the Silence.
The silence are aliens that have inhabited our earth for centuries. While you are looking at them, you remember them, but once you look away, you forget they were ever there. But, while you are looking at them, they can convince you to do something by telling you to do so. For example, you could look a one and it could tell you to scream "help" and once you look away, you will scream "help" without knowing why you are doing it.
