I'm pretty positive about this... they're used by having them cut open; all their whale parts are used for things like: cosmetics, glossy paper, vitamins, etc. But people should use items that don't have whale products in them.

Of course the Japanese insist that their program is only for science, even though whale meat from Japan has been found on sale outside of Japan.

well, we used to hunt them for oil and blubber (thick layer of skin), now its against the law, but i think theirs still some illegal hunting going on
