Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia) can cause unconciousness quite quickly. If the patient is conscious then you can give them a sugary drink (eg lucozade). If they are unconscious, giving anything by mouth can cause choking. You can carefully apply hypostop (glucose gel) to the gums which is rapidly absorbed. Alternatively they will need an injection of gucagen which mobilises the glycogen reserves in the body.
High blood sugar (hyperglycaemia) can only be treated by injection of insulin which balances the system and thereby lowers the blood sugar level. An unconcious patient will typically require urgent hospitalisation to achive this.
When someone passes out from Diabetes, you immediately want to call paramedics and explain the current situation. While waiting for the paramedics attempt to check the level of their glucose and if it is high just be patient, but if their glucose levels are low administer the glucagon immediately. Then explain once the paramedics arrive what you did to assist with this..
When someone has hypoglycemia, Or a "hypo" their blood sugar would be falling very quickly so action must be taken straight away. To get out of a hypo, you must have some instant sugar, such as a handful of jelly babies of half a can of coke. After the hypo is treated, you must have a starchy snack such as a biscuit, although not chocolate because chocolate will mess about the blood sugar and without a starchy snack the person will be hypo again. if the blood sugar falls too low then the person may become unconscious and will then need a sugary injection from a small orange box that should be with the diabetic.
When my blood sugar drops the best thing I have found is to drink some Orange Juice. My doctor told me that or to eat a tablespoon of peanut butter but the juice works better for me.
when you see someone pass out use a disbreaveator. do CPR too. Give them two breaths. if ther still not breaving repeat it again.
try rushing them to the emergency room
“is a blood sugar level of 94 considered low if you're diabetic”
people who are diabetic have high blood sugar
Sometimes when a diabetic is expierencing low blood sugar they will sweat profundly. The easiest and quickest way to raise the diabetics bloody sugar is to give them orange juice.
you may have hypoglycemia
Diabetics aren't incapable of consuming sugar, but their bodies aren't capable of producing enough insulin to help balance the levels of blood sugar. If a diabetic is currently low on blood sugar, they should consume more sugars, but should avoid it when their blood sugar is high.
Hypoglycemia is the name of the emergency caused by low blood sugar. It can result in confusion, unconsciousness, and when severe, seizures and brain damage. Treatment is giving glucose, typically in an IV, if unconscious. If the patient is still awake and is found to have low blood sugar, giving them something sugary to drink, such as juice, can help prevent them from losing consciousness.
I think you are probably referring to when a diabetic has hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. Sometimes this is referred to as a sugar coma because it is when the patient's blood sugar is so low that it can cause them to become very lethargic, and even slip into a coma or die.
low blood sugar
Sudden tiredness could be caused from over exertion, low iron or low blood sugar. If the problem persists, consult your physician.
Hypoglycemic is low blood sugar (under 70) and a hyperglycemia is a high blood sugar level (over 150) and an attack is probably over at least 200.
i think its hypoglycemia means low amount of blood sugar so you have to have sugar often becky 12
Glucose tablets are tablets that are sold at the pharmacy for diabetic patients. When a patient begins to experience low blood sugar they need fast acess to glucose/sugar. So the chewable tablets are to be ingested at that time to help with the low blood sugar. That are usually sold in rolls or bottles near the pharmacy counter located by the diabetic supplies. Basically they are "sugar tablets".
