The best way to keep a Great Dane's nails short is to take him/her to a dog groomer at least once a month. If you can't afford a dog groomer, you can purchase nail trimmers for dogs at a local department store or pet store. If you decide to trim his/her nails on your own, be careful not to cut them too short, and you should trim Great Dane nails at least once a month.
Rabbits normally scratch to keep their claws short

Danes can live in any environment provided it is not too hot or humid. They need a place that is nicely ventilated with sufficient water to drink. If you feel the outside of your home is too hot, you can think about setting up a kennel with proper ventilation and probably a fan to keep him cool.
Great Danes have very thin coats, so they do not like cold weather. If it's comfortable for a person, it's comfortable for a Great Dane. In cold weather they really do need a coat to help them keep warm, just like a person.
I will keep it short, and not elaborate a great deal in supplying you with this answer.
Due to a Great Dane's short, straight haired coat, bathing only needs to be done once every two-three weeks. Unless you dog is noticeably dirty, that should be sufficient. Brushing, however, should really be done every few days, to remove any hidden dirt, keep the coat looking clean and to minimise any shedding, which is very little in Great Danes.

Tigers have retractable claws just like a house cat. This helps them keep their claws sharp.
Cats usually keep their claws healthy by "sharpening" them regularly, using scratching posts. A cat's nails are nothing like human nails; a cat's claws are made of many thin layers, much like an onion. To shed these old layers, a cat will dig in its claws into a surface and flex its toes to remove the outer layer. The remaining layer is smooth and keeps the claws very sharp.
