Check out other discs for example Blu-Ray and DVD movies to see whether the PS3 reads those as well as other games to make sure the problem is with it reading any disc and not just with that disc. Also try turning off the PS3 and re starting it to see if that helps.
Try playing a different game. If it works, the problem is with the first game. If it doesn't then the problem is probably with the console.
If the game is broken, then it would probably be easiest to just replace it. A broken console, however, might be fixable.
