It contains people who are in various ways sinners. This is why the church either individually or collectively has so many problems. If people were already perfect they would not need to be in a church. They are there theoretically because they need help. The problem is that so many of them are not given the help they need and so many also do not want it.

Which church? Assuming you are refering to Christianity {due to the term "church"} as a general entity, all Christians share in the faith that Mary conceived the Christ child as a virgin by God's hand. Christ then lived the word of God and died on the cross to save humanity.
