now is the game good? depends. if you're a hard-core sim racer, you might want to wait for the price to drop a bit. if you're looking for something new, this is the game to get. if you're that Need for Speed fan that likes running from the cops, just try this game. it's really good.

If you mean Need for Speed shift 2 then you need to buy it new and use the code, or you can't play it at all. You can purchase it online. If you mean the first shift, you can play it offline, but I don't think it works if you buy it preowned online.
