The U.S. was too powerful (and sneaky), the Indians just couldn't take it.

Because we did not have the manpower or firepower to resist. It would be hard for my great great grandparents to fight hundreds of Americans with guns and money while they only had 20 good fighters with spears, clubs, and bows.

Why do you think most in Dian groups eventually stopped resisting the US?

Most in Dian groups likely stopped resisting the US due to a combination of factors, including military pressure, political changes, and a shift in local priorities. Over time, the realization that continued resistance was unsustainable, coupled with the desire for stability and development, may have led to a reassessment of their strategies. Additionally, the influence of external actors and a lack of unified support among the resistance could have contributed to their eventual withdrawal from active opposition.

Why do you think most Indian groups eventually stopped resisting the U.S.?

Basically they were overruled and outnumbered by the Europeans settlers. They were killed, starved to death, moved, pushed off ancestral lands, discriminated against, treaties broken, and murdered in their camps. From the very start the European settlers brought with them foreign animals, plants, and insects into the new world. One of the most destructive was the honey bee and it was environmental terrorism that was practiced against the Native Americans. The final battle of Little Big Horn was the death knoll for the plains tribes. With the hunting down and the death of the leaders who resisted the government the people were finally in defeat and moved onto reservations.
