People that get married in a registry office usually wear nice clothes, but not extravagant. A nice "Sunday" dress for the ladies and dress pants with a button up and tie for the guys is pretty normal. It is totally up to you though. I've had some friends that were married in the courthouse that just wore their jeans and a nice shirt. I've had others that went ahead and went for the white wedding dress. It all depends on what you want out of it. If you are planning on snapping a couple of pictures or posting it on Facebook, you may want to keep that in mind when you are looking in the closet. Also, keep in mind that whatever you are wearing will need to pass through a metal detector.
