It may be PB, not PD? part of the B may be worn away...if you have a loupe or magnifying glass you should look closely... a P or PB after the karat mark stands for Plumb...which means it is exactly 14K gold. 14K gold is softer than 10K and wears away easily, especially on rings. Or,... it could also be a makers mark.
