Are you sure it doesn't say 925 instead? Often I find that '925' often looks like it says '725' when hallmarked. All '925' means is that your item is silver. :-)
it also has #1704 on it fairly heavy bracelet with 9 cats eyes lotsof silver and 18 small coral angel skin all round stones
I purchased a a small jewelry cross that was advertised as .725 sterling silver. As it turned out it was actually a copper cross covered with silver. So when an item is stamped .725 it is an item that is a base metal item covered with a precious metal coat.
725 stand in the necklace it is very low silver. For Real!
Sterling silver is a standard measure that means there are .925 parts of pure silver in each 1.00 part of the metal. A metal stamped .725 is not Sterling silver, it is roughly only 3/4 silver and 1/4 of another metal in the mix.
It is the purity of that metal. which means if you melt your metal you get 72.5% pure of that metal. Just like 916 for gold and 925 for silver.
725 = 72500%725 = 72500%725 = 72500%725 = 72500%
If you mean 725 then 100*725.00 = 72500% Whilst the above answer is correct for 725, as there is a space between the 7 and 2, I assume it is the decimal 7.25? In which case, it is 7.25 x 100 = 725%
12% of 725= 12% * 725= 0.12 * 725= 87
92% of 725= 92% * 725= 0.92 * 725= 667
Well, you can read a silver hallmark with their have number ( 725 ) Low silver or can be 925 or 99.9 pure silver! Sincerely: Living Life Enterprises Presents wix. in Google .com The Best " Answers.com "
