What does 925 and a D stamped inside a ring mean?
What does D mean in a silver ring
A 925 stamped on any ring (if not a replica or fake) is a numerical term used to define the most referring to precious metal "sterling silver" jewelry piece. 925 is a percentage of silver... 92.5 percent is silver of the piece stamped sterling or 925. the other 7.75 percent of the metals are not of silver content.
The 925 means it is 92.5% real silver (which is good!) and SJM is what is stamped in my ring as well. Many times a Jeweler will stamp their name inside the ring, often times abbreviating or using initials. My ring was purchased at a Samuels Jewelers, thus the SJM... perhaps yours was as well? If not, a jewel with a similar name/initials. Hope this helps!
BGE 925 stamped on inside of ring means? The 925 means that the ring is made of sterling silver and that the silver is 92.5% pure. The BGE is a designer signature that is used by the Bradford Exchange. Apparently the BGE is a group that "provides general services to the entire Bradford Group," according to its website.
