1)(Ischemic Stroke) there is a blockage of an artery that supplies the brain with blood or
2) (Hemorrhagic Stroke) the artery supplying brain losses it's integrity causing a hemorrhage such as in the case of ananeurysm or when your blood vessels "explode" due to hypertension.
The effects of the stroke will depend on the part of the brain affected and the degree reversibility on the presence and degree ofcell death/infarction.
