john hancock jr. his son
believe it or not but heather lockleer Edit: It would depend on what John Hancock you are referring to. If you are referring to the one who signed the Declaration of Independents he had 2 children, John George Washington Hancock (yes he was named after George Washington the President as John Hancock was friends with him) and Lydia Henchman Hancock. They both unfortunately died, Lydia at about 8 months and John at about 8 years old. The nearest descendants of John Hancock are from his grandfathers brother, Nathaniel Hancock. Additional Note: The reason I wrote the first sentence like I did was because John Hancock's (signer of the Declaration of Independents) father and grandfathers names were also John Hancock.
Yes, he was married to Dorothy Quincy. She was the great-great aunt of Louisa May Alcott. Dorothy Quincy Scott was known as Aunt Hancock to Louisa, and was the family legend. She was called this for her famous first husband, John Hancock. She was a bride during the Revolution, and lived in the Governor's Mansion when her husband became the Governor of Massachusetts. After Hancock died, and Dorothy was remarried, she still was called Aunt Hancock.

Because John Hancocks signature on the Declaration of Independence standards out from the rest, signatures have been called a John Hancock in reference to his signing.
The words "John Hancock" are often used to describe the word "signature." When J. Hancock singed the Declaration of Independence, his was the largest sig. of them all. Hancock is best-remembered for his giant signature on the document, so that is why a signature is often called a "John Hancock."
