This is the Roman numeral for '1803 '

M = 1000

D = 500

C = 100

Hence CCC = 100 + 100 + 100 = 300

I = 1

III = 1 + 1 + 1 = 3

Hence

MDCCCIII = 1000 + 500 + 300 + 3 = 1803

NB In Roman numerals one(1) is written as a CAPITAL 'I' , NOT '1'.
