Mt:7:12: Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

It means to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Meaning, if you don't want people to steal from you,do not steal from them;if you do not want people to lie to you,do not lie to them;and if you do not want people to have adultery with your wife/or husband, do not have adultery with others wives/or husbands.

Matthew 7:24 says: "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock."(NIV)

To get the full meaning of this (or ANY)scripture, it's important to read around it.

At Matthew 7:21-27 Jesus tells us: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who DOES the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers! Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

The thing that will save our lives now in this difficult world (and at God's judgment day), will be our obedience to God. Jesus says that unless we're DOING his father's will, and listening (being obedient) to what Jesus tells us, we will not survive. Listening to Jesus, and being obedient to his father, is like building our house on a rock foundation. No matter what happens in life, we will survive and remain faithful, because our heartfelt foundation is built on HIS teachings. We solve our problems using God's principles and actually DO what he tells us to do in his Word the Bible.

On the other hand, if we choose to ignore Jesus and his father, our lives will be as if we were constructing our house on sand. When the storms (problems in life) hit us, our foundation washes away and we collapse.
