Well, they'd be hard to see from Earth, since they are galaxies away in the game. But, if you play the game, they look kinda like green jellyfish with claws and brains visible through the green jelly. And they float. And they clamp onto your head and kill you unless you go into morph ball mode and drop a bomb.

Metroid Prime in its second form has a somewhat squidlike appearance. It has transparent blues skin that shows some of its internal structure and six long tentacles. It has the same glowing red eyes as its first form.
