Ray Sheppard was the hired driver for the Rehr Morrison pro stock racing team that was pretty hard to beat in the early 80's. He also died in one of their cars. He was testing tires, so they were only launching the car, so he didn't have his harnesses on, and wrecked the car. He was also known for his special technique of porting out Chevy race cyllinder heads. His heads were the best.
