Sal learns that Mrs. Cadaver's husband died in a car accident while driving their son to the hospital. This revelation deepens Sal's empathy towards Mrs. Cadaver and strengthens their bond as Sal starts to understand the pain and grief that Mrs. Cadaver has been carrying. It also helps Sal see Mrs. Cadaver in a more compassionate light, leading her to appreciate and relate to her more.

Mrs. Cadaver's husband was in a car crash, bumped by a drunk man. In addition, her mother was blind because of this as well.

Sal now can't believe that two sad things had occured once to her, and later on she knows that her dad and her were only friends, so she's friends with her .

Mrs. Cadaver had a very sad story. She was a nurse, and was on duty the night that her husband and mother were brought into the hospitals from a very bad car crash. She was there when her husband died, and when they found out her mother would be blind as a result of the crash.

This was part of the reason that she left on the bus tour, where she met Sal's mom. She was sitting next to her when the bus crashed. She was the only Survivor, and the last person to talk to Sal's mother.
