The 1989 Chevy Caprice 305 V8 does not have a carburetor. It is equipped with Throttle Body Fuel Injection which may look like a carburetor but is not.

Its on the right side of the throttle body. The throttle body is behind the black housing in the middle of the engine that says something like 4.7 V8. The throttle body sensor is the one on the top of another sensor that is on the right side of the throttle body.

Use throttle body cleaner and clean the back and all ports. Always disconnect the batter before removing throttle body, it will mess up electronic memory if you don't.
