Quails are short tailed, chunky game birds. Usually less than ten inches long.
Some quail are the chukar, bobwhite, California and Gambel's quails, Montezuma quail. The bobwhite is the only eastern quail.
small in size and having mottled brown plumage and a short tail. they are birds,
They look like this.

A baby quail cannot have a chicken for its mom. If a chicken and quail were to mate, the quail would likely die. The chicken would kill it. Quail are too delicate to be around the chicken.
Here in Arizona, the roadrunner will eat the baby quail.
yes a baby quail does need its mother for warmth it is very hard to raie baby quails with out their mother
The mother carries the baby by the scruff of the neck, the finds bugs, small plants etc. and feeds it.
Quail when plucked does look a bit like a tiny chicken but it does not taste the same as chicken. It has a more 'game ' taste and I find it to be more oily in the mouth. Bear in mind that an average quail is only about 5 ounces so you will probably need three to make a meal.
They are greyish blue and brown, and they have a feather on top their head
err..... i think its like 1 or 2 in 5 wont survive
they look like baby chameleons lol
Baby Quail will seek the protection of their mother beneath her wings at any perceived threat . They also can get warmth from grouping together.
