The first thing a butterfly must do when they first emerge from the chrysalis is to rest and dry out their new wings.
It changes from a caterpillar into a butterfly.
No. A caterpillar is in the larval stage.
Plants came first as they make the that food the insects eat.
Butterflies are insects. Only mammals get pregnant. Insects lay eggs.
The ultimate must be "over winter" lest the species perish. But the question then becomes 'what constitutes "winter"?', how cold and how long? My daughter brought in several of these species' caterpillars last fall (September, October) and we just had a hatching bloom in February. So at coolish room temperatures (60sF) they seem to have a built-in, end-of-season minimum cocoon-span of 6 months. Outdoors in prevailing winter temperatures they stay cocooned long enough to assure they are past (hard) freezing temperatures before hatching, since, as cold-blooded insects, they can die if they can't protect themselves from temperatures a few degrees below freezing. In warm summer temperatures the cocoon-span would be much shorter; they sense it is not end-of-season and they need to get a few generations of butterflies hatched during each summer season to reproduce the species. (I do not know the average summer minimum cocoon-span time, that would take an entomologist to .) For a start Butterflies make chrysalis, moths make cocoons. There are major differences between the two and they should not be confused. As for the timespan spent in the chrysalis, that is a little hard to . Pupation normally lasts for 10 to 15 days, but it really depends on the time that the stage starts. If the caterpillar starts to pupate in late autumn to early winter, then they will stay in this state until the weather become warmer, which can take a few months. Whereas, if pupation starts in spring or summer, they will only stay in the chrysalis for the normally 10 to 15 days.
I'm not really sure how much they weigh.that depends on the type of butterfly.

The process of which a butterfly is born is called metamorphosis. This process begins with a little egg, when the egg hatches a caterpillar emerges. Once the caterpillar has finished growing they form into a chrysalis (pupa), which is where the caterpillar begins to change to the butterfly. Once the changing process is over a butterfly emerges from the pupa.
Moths make a Cocoon, and butterflies make a chrysalis. But I do believe that all caterpillars (that make it alive) must go through their pupa stage.

butterfly are not close to extinction they must be in hot climate to live if not they will die
No, only the adult (moth or butterfly) is sexually mature and can lay eggs.---------------------------------------------------------------------A caterpillar does not lay eggs. A caterpillar is the juvenile of an insect like a butterfly or moth that when mature will lay eggs.---------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. We did this experiment in grade school. One must first soak the chicken leg bone overnight in vineager. Once it emerges the next day the bone is bendable.
butterfly knives are legal but they must be under 3.5 inches. Balisong trainers are legal however.
Nothing at all, except you have seen a big butterfly. The local ecology must be good for butterflies.
well how can i know?? but she must do that because she have an Hannah Montana song called: butterfly fly away! ^^ enjoy! :))
Torque for butterfly valves cannot be determined using a generic method. You must request the conversion table from the manufacturer.
It is a project set up to help people from self harmer. They must draw a butterfly on the area of their body which they self harm and if they don't cut by the time it has faded off then they have "let the butterfly go".
