It may mean that there is something wrong with the electronics of the transmission. =============================== A flashing OD light usually means that there is an error code somewhere within the engine system. My '91 Probe speed sensor went out, and the OD light continally flashes. The car also will not shift into overdrive. This may or may not be the same in your case. Best bet would be to take it somewhere and pay ~$80 for the diagnostic, or pull the codes yourself. Do some searching and you should find out how to pull the codes with no problem, as it usually only involves jumping some wires on the test connector under the hood. On my Probe, the connectors are near the drivers side strut. Basically, the car is in "limp" mode, and a default code is being used in place of what its supposed to be getting from a certain sensor, in order to keep the car operating. Kind of like "safe mode" for Windows. Hope this helps, and good luck. -Shaun
