Best Answer

The Komodo dragon is the world's largest lizard, reaching a length of up to 3.15m or over ten feet, and weighing an average of 70kg, although some have been known to weigh up to 165kg, or 365 pounds. The tail of a Komodo dragon is usually as long as its body. Its sharp, jagged teeth can be as long as 1cm each, and unlike other lizards, it has a long, forked tongue which is bright yellow.

Young komodo dragons are coloured yellow, green, brown or grey and sometimes they are often speckled and banded. Adult dragons are either earthy red in colour, greyish or black. Their bodies are covered with rough, thick and tough scaly skin.

What can a dragon fly do to you?

Yes. The only "dragons" that exist in the world today are the "Komodo dragons", large vicious lizards native to some islands near Indonesia. They resemble very large monitor lizards, are incredibly fast in short sprints, and their mouths and teeth are amazingly filthy. People bitten by a Komodo dragon are often poisoned or infected by the attack. Yes, humans have been killed and eaten by Komodo dragons.

How do komodo dragons look for there food?

They are excellent trackers and smell with their tongues like snakes so they can find food easily. The fun part is how they catch it. Komodo dragons have deadly bacteria in their saliva so when they bite their prey the bacteria gets transferred into its bloodstream. The dragon then lets the food go free so it can track where the food crawled off to, which it eventually dies from the bacteria, usually that takes about 24 hours. The dragon then eats it's now dead catch.

Is komodo a reptile or a amphibian?

In European Legends they're said to look reptalic, but it contridicts other European legends about them. Reptiles are cold blooded and dragons couldn't have been cold blooded because they were said to live on snowy mountains, where it'd be too cold for a reptile to survive.
